How
do I get a Library Card? |
|
Beginning fall semester 2002, the college
instituted the use of a College ID Card. This ID
card is free to students and is made available by staff
in Student Services. The barcode on the front of
the student ID must be activated by filling out a
library application at the front desk of either
the Brewer Library or the LRC. An important feature of
the College ID is the picture. When you bring this card
to the Library and/or the LRC, Circulation staff will
update your existing Borrower Record and assign a new
barcode over the existing barcode on the student ID.
This ID will then be your Library Card as well as your
Student ID card.
If you are a new student and have never
registered a Borrower Record, you will be asked to fill
out a Borrower Application. Borrower information will
be entered by library staff to create a Library and LRC
borrower record. |
|
How
do I find items in the libraries? |
|
Most of the Library and LRC
materials are included in the
Library
Catalog, found on the main
Library/LRC Web page.
The Library Catalog is searchable by keyword, title, author, and
subject.
The Library and LRC shelves are organized by the
Library of Congress
classification scheme. You may also browse the
print collection for relevant materials.
The Library and LRC journal
and periodical print collections are not cataloged, but can be
browsed alphabetically on the shelves.
You can also find online
books, journals, newspapers, encyclopedias and more
materials via the
AVL databases and
NetLibrary
Ebooks. You must create a free account while on
campus for
off-campus access to the NetLibrary electronic book collection.
You can create the free account from any networked
computer on all campuses. |
|
